University of Bahrain and Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability sign a Memorandum of Understanding for joint cooperation

The University of Bahrain and the Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability (GSMR) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation between them in the fields of maintenance, reliability, and asset management, with the aim of developing and supporting frameworks of mutual understanding in the practical and educational fields for both parties.
The President of the University of Bahrain, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, welcomed the strengthening of relations between the national university and the soceity specialized in the fields of maintenance and reliability, expressing the university’s aspiration to activate and develop joint expertise, in order to achieve the highest levels of technical engineering cooperation between the countries of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability was established in 2010 by 26 employees in the maintenance fields of major industrial companies in the Arab Gulf States. The association was registered with the Ministry of Social Development in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
Dr. Al-Mudhahka stressed the importance of the convergence of academic expertise and practical and technical expertise to advance engineering programs and adapt them according to the requirements of the stage and the needs of industry in the region, stressing that cooperation between the two sides would contribute to creating highly qualified outputs.
For his part, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability, Eng. Saad Al-Shamrani, stressed the Society’s keenness to establish links with Gulf universities to exchange expertise, experiences and opinions regarding engineering work, improve practices, and obtain professional certificates.
Eng. Saad extended his sincere thanks to the President of the University of Bahrain for the warm hospitality and welcome, expressing his aspiration to expand joint activities, especially in the fields of training and engineering education.
The memorandum was signed on behalf of the University of Bahrain by its President, Dr. Jawaher bint Shaheen Al-Mudhahka, and on behalf of the society by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Eng. Saad Al-Shamrani, in the presence of officials from the University and the GSMR.
The Memorandum of Understanding stipulates cooperation between the two parties in a number of targeted fields (professional, research, training, technical, and developmental), and the exchange of expertise between the two parties in the field of engineering accreditation, conferences, training, lectures, workshops, and seminars, and encouraging the two parties to exchange visits in order to support and activate the areas of the memorandum, in addition to implementing joint projects in the aforementioned fields.
The signing ceremony of the MoU was attended by the President, from the University of Bahrain, and the Vice President for Information Technology Services, Administrative and Financial Affairs Dr. Osama Abdullah Al-Jowder, Vice President for Academic Programs and Postgraduate Studies Dr. Mohammed Redha Qader, Dean of the College of Engineering Dr. Shaikha Haifa bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Faculty Member at the College of Information Technology Dr. Amal Mohammed Al-Rayes, and Faculty Member at the College of Applied Education Maryam Ali Abu Al-Fath. From the Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability, the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Society, Eng. Saad Al-Shamrani, Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Society, Mahmood Mirza, and the Director General of the Society, Jassim Yousef Ahmed.
