Overview of CAMA

The Gulf Society for Maintenance and Reliability (GSMR) is a non-profit organization that provides support to maintenance, reliability, and asset management professionals in the Arabian Gulf region. This support is offered through conferences, symposiums, technical seminars, training, and certification events. The GSMR is one of the eight partner organizations that make up Word Partners in Asset Management (WPiAM) and participates in its global offering of the Certified Asset Management Assessor (CAMA) certification exam.

The CAMA certification establishes an individual’s credentials in asset management knowledge and comprehension. GSMR’s certification process complies with:

GFMAM Competency Specification for an ISO 55001 Asset Management System Auditor/Assessor, Second Edition.
ISO/IEC TS 17021-5 :2014 Conformity assessment — Requirements for bodies providing audit and certification of management systems — Part 5: Competence requirements for the certification of asset management systems

Benefits of Certification

Prerequisites for the Certification

Candidates must have a minimum of 5 years work experience in asset management
Complete a professional profile which is then reviewed and approved by the GSMR Expert Panel
Have a working knowledge of ISO 5500X Standards; and
Understand the GFMAM Competency Specification for an ISO 55001 Asset Management System Auditor/Assessor.
