Why participate and celebrate Global Maintenance Day?
The Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability (GSMR), a founding member of the Global Forum for Maintenance and Asset Management (GFMAM), the body that connects the maintenance, reliability and asset management communities worldwide, is participating in an initiative to establish “Global Maintenance Day” on June 9, 2023. This day is dedicated to celebrating and promoting the importance of maintenance in our daily lives and workplaces.
The importance of this celebration is highlighted by the fact that it is being held for the first time in the world, in appreciation of what maintenance represents as one of the basic elements of society, as basic maintenance aims to keep things working properly, but it also has other effective effects, including safety, environmental safety and sustainable development, and it is considered a strong supporter of the economy of our countries.
Therefore, the importance of the participation of the Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability in this event and celebration is highlighted, given the importance of this celebration and its role in promoting the importance of maintenance in the industrial community around the world, as well as the commitment of the society that has taken it upon itself to care for topics that constitute the essence of contemporary industry, namely the topics of maintenance, reliability and asset management.
From this standpoint, and in continuation of its role in participating in the establishment of the Global Forum for Maintenance and Asset Management (GFMAM), the importance of its invitation to participate and celebrate the Global Maintenance Day appears, with the aim of educating professionals, organizations and industries on the importance of maintenance in our daily working lives.
