For the 2024-2026 session, Ahmed Al-Jelwah is elected as the Chairman of the Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability

The General Assembly of the Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability was recently held at the Swiss-Belhotel Seef Bahrain, during which Eng. Ahmed Al-Jelwah was elected as the Society’s Chairman for the term 2024-2026.
In a speech during the meeting, the Vice Chairman of the Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability, Eng. Mahmood Mirza, valued the continuous support of the wise government of the Kingdom of Bahrain, official bodies, companies and institutions for the Society’s work and activities, praising the efforts of the Board of Directors and all members of the working committees and volunteers, and its staff, and their dedication and tireless work that had a great impact on moving forward to achieve the Society’s goals and aspirations.
The General Assembly meeting on September 7 witnessed the discussion and approval of a number of basic items that were raised, most notably: approving the agenda, as well as discussing the literary and financial report, and then electing a committee to supervise and conduct the elections to select seven new members of the Board of Directors out of thirteen candidates. The elections resulted in the following members winning the membership of the Board of Directors for the next session:
• Eng. Ahmed Al-Jelwah, Saudi Aramco - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
• Eng. Mahmood Mirza, Kingdom of Bahrain
• Eng. Nader Milibari, Arabian Equipment Services - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
• Maram Al-Hammad, Saudi Aramco - Kingdom of Saudi Arabia
• Eng. Bader Al-Jazzaf, Kuwait Integrated Petroleum Industries Company - State of Kuwait
• Eng. Abdullah Nasser Al-Obaidani, Oman Petroleum Development Company - Sultanate of Oman
• Eng. Mahmood Dashti, Bapco Refinery - Kingdom of Bahrain.
The General Assembly meeting was held before the Kingdom of Bahrain hosts the activities of the 7th International Maintenance and Reliability Conference and Exhibition “Maintcon 2024” at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center during the period from 13 to 16 October, organized by the Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability and the Bahrain Society of Engineers, under the slogan “Building Resilience in Assets for Sustainable Tomorrow” in coordination and cooperation with the Ministry of Oil and Environment, and attended by H.E. Dr. Mohamed bin Mubarak Bin Daina, Minister of Oil and Environment and Special Envoy for Climate Affairs, with the participation of more than 3,000 global professionals, engineers, specialists and those interested in the field of maintenance, reliability and asset management.
Believing in the role of youth in sustainable development, community development and contributing to economic growth in the oil and industry sectors, “Maintcon 2024” intends to launch the “Youth Council” initiative, which will be a platform for young university students and recent graduates in the fields of engineering, maintenance and asset management, with the aim of giving them the opportunity to participate in practical life, to enhance their capabilities and develop their scientific and practical skills, and to give them the opportunity to assess the needs of their community, participate in finding solutions, and provide services through the platform.
