Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability signs MoU to enhance operational performance and asset sustainability

The Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability (GSMR) announced the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with HSB Solomon Associates, a global company specializing in providing performance measurement and analysis services. The MoU was signed on the sidelines of the 7th International Maintenance, Reliability and Asset Management Conference (MAINTON 2024) which was held at the Bahrain International Exhibition Center from 13 to 16 October 2024, with the official attendance of the Society and representatives of HSB Solomon Associates.
The MoU seeks to explore ways to support and advance the field of maintenance, reliability and asset management in the GCC countries, in line with the latest international practices. It also includes exploring opportunities for cooperation to provide recommendations that improve the performance of various companies and sectors in the field of maintenance and reliability, which enables decisions to be made based on accurate data and comprehensive analysis. In addition, the MoU includes reviewing the possibility of providing training programs for members of the association, focusing on developing their skills in the fields of maintenance, reliability and asset management. Through this cooperation, the two parties seek to launch qualitative initiatives that contribute to improving operational efficiency, enhance positive transformation in the field and provide innovative solutions that serve the interests of the sector.
In a statement, Eng. Ahmed Al-Jelwah, Chairman of the Gulf Society for Maintenance & Reliability, explained that the MoU represents a launch for cooperation and exchange of expertise between the two parties, which enhances the improvement of operational performance and sustainability of assets. Al-Jelwah added: “This MoU is a qualitative launch for the association, and an activation of its pioneering role in enhancing, supporting and developing the field of maintenance, reliability and asset management in the Gulf region, especially since this field is a fundamental pillar for advancing and sustaining the development process in the region as a whole, through providing reports and recommendations based on accurate data, scientific methods, and adopting global practices, benefiting from the experiences of the two parties that signed the MoU.” For his part, Omar Khan, Vice President of HSB Solomon Associates for the Middle East, expressed his happiness at signing the MoU with the association.
